We are of peace. Always.

Why it is hard sci-fi

The 2009 reboot of V. Soft on physics, careful about infiltration. The shows working idea is that a fleet of motherships arrives in benevolent posture and that the visitors have been on Earth for decades preparing the population. The political procedural follows a federal agent and a priest who recognise the deception. The biology of the visitors is reptilian under human-passing skin and the show commits to that mechanism.

Science inside it

Look-alike biology with a working scale-and-skin overlay, mothership-class spacecraft as a fleet platform, a chemical compound called bliss that is used as a population-control tool, and a working covert-recruitment program over decades. The shows reuse of the original 1980s premise updates the political tradecraft to a contemporary federal-agency model.
