Adapted from William Gibsons novel. A young woman in a near-future Appalachian town discovers that she is operating, through a game-like interface, a remote-controlled body in a distant-future London. The show commits to one rule. The future is communicating with the past via a quantum-information channel called a stub, and any past it touches becomes a separate, doomed timeline. The procedural texture is mid-21st-century rural America with a far-future overlay.
Science inside it
A quantum-information channel from one timeline to another, a peripheral-class telepresence body as the operational interface, a working post-Jackpot London with rebuilt biology, and a recurring engagement with the political-economic shape of a future society that uses past timelines as resources. The shows Jackpot is a slow-rolling collapse rather than a single event, which is one of the more rigorous portrayals of climate-and-pandemic decline in TV.
