This is the way.
Why it is hard sci-fi
Soft. The show is a western in space and the working idea is that the post-Empire galaxy is a frontier with limited rule-of-law. The shows technology is the saga baseline. The shows hardness is in the procedural shape of a single bounty hunter operating across multiple planets with limited resources, real travel time, and a recurring problem of paying for the next jump. The episodic structure is closer to a 1970s hour drama than a saga sequel.
Science inside it
No new physics. The shows interesting model is its post-imperial economy, with a working Imperial credits collapse, a recurring beskar-as-money problem for the protagonist, and a sequence of planetside episodes that read as economic case studies under a power vacuum.
