Why it is hard sci-fi
A young-adult survival show that runs through a sequence of post-apocalyptic environments, each with its own biological and political constraints. The show is uneven but commits to a few hard rules. A Mount Weather facility with a radiation-survivor population that needs blood transfusions to leave it, a working Ark in low Earth orbit with enumerated life-support resources, and an Eden seed project in deep space that drives the back half of the series.

Long-duration low-Earth-orbit habitation under failing life support, post-nuclear-winter human biology with a real radiation gradient, blood-based immune transfer, and a sleeper-ship colonisation arc with cryosleep and habitat seeding. The show also commits to a flame-based AI system that runs as a literal headset.
