Why it is hard sci-fi
A young woman discovers that she is one of a population of clones with a shared biological origin and divergent histories. The show commits to the rule. Each clone is distinct in personality and skill but identical in biology, and the central science problem is the engineered fertility status that distinguishes most of them from one of their number. The show runs as a real biology procedural with lab work and patent law.
Science inside it
Somatic-cell cloning with engineered alterations, biological intellectual property, fertility as a controlled trait under a corporate license, and a recurring lab-bench arc with working microscopy, sequencing, and synthesis. The show is closer to a research-lab thriller than to a typical TV genre piece.
