All empires fall. What comes next?

Why it is hard sci-fi

A loose adaptation of Asimovs Foundation novels. The show commits to a working set of ideas. Psychohistory as a predictive social science, the Genetic Dynasty of Brother Day as a long-running ruling lineage of clones, the Foundation as a buffer against the predicted galactic dark age, and a slow accumulation of historical evidence in support of psychohistorys predictions. The shows political and engineering procedural is the working subject.

Science inside it

Psychohistory as a fictional social-prediction science with explicit assumption boundaries, a working multi-generation cloning programme as a state-stability mechanism, a generation-scale political experiment in the form of the Foundation, and a recurring engagement with the role of a single Imperial AI, Demerzel, as the long-running continuity.
