Why it is hard sci-fi
A blue-collar worker on a 2084 Earth visits a memory implant service that goes wrong, and a hidden identity from a Mars-based intelligence operation surfaces. The film leaves the question of whether anything after the implant is real or implanted unresolved on purpose, and the production design commits to a working colonised Mars with pressure domes, oxygen rationing, and an exposed-to-vacuum failure mode. The science is uneven and the worldbuilding is the hard part.

Memory implantation as a consumer service, Mars colonisation under partial atmospheric pressure, terraforming via a dormant alien atmospheric reactor, and the medical mechanism of a vacuum-exposure decompression event. The atmospheric reactor at the end is the films single biggest physics handwave and it knows it.
